Wireless techniques for PROFIBUS DP and PROFINET
A paper discussing the various radio techniques that can be used on ProfibusDP and Profinet. Many technologies can be used each with its benefits but also disadvantages
The presentation will cover low power radio (458and 869Mhz) use for both Profibus and Profinet and then consider how we could use wireless Ethernet (2.4Ghz) solutions on Profinet systems.
Consideration must be given to transmission power, antenna design, bandwidth and latency times.
